Our storyWho we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family
Who we are
Covenant Methodist Church equals connection to Christ and with one another. We’re far from perfect, but hopeful. Rooted in our faith, we reach out to others in love, striving to make our world a better place.
We’ve known the joy that connection with others brings, therefore, we want as many people as possible to experience the peace, and freedom inherent in authentic relationships grounded in Christ.
Where we come from
In the fall of 2011, fourteen people sat in Pastor Jason’s living room pondering what God desired Covenant Methodist Church to become.
These pioneers envisioned a new community-based United Methodist church on the southern edge of The Woodlands.
In addition, they imagined a warm and casual atmosphere where everyone would feel welcome no matter their background or life journey.
Finally, they dreamed of a place where authentic relationships would serve as the vehicle for connecting and transforming the community through the love of Christ.
With the vision in mind, they threw themselves into the hard work of planting a church. As a result of their efforts, Covenant Methodist Church officially launched as a church plant on January 8, 2012. On March 1, 2015, Covenant was chartered as a official United Methodist Church of the Texas Annual Conference and on May 6, 2018, we broke ground on our new Kuykendahl Rd. and Creekside Green Dr. facility.
Finally, our vision came to fruition on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 as we opened the doors and welcomed the community into our new Creekside facilty designed to be a hub for community connection.
Where we’re headed
Now, more than ever, Covenant Methodist Church commits itself to foster a community built on relationships. We pledge ourselves to be ambassadors of Christ’s love in our day-to-day interactions: with our families, our neighbors, our schools, our workplaces, wherever we may find ourselves.
Covenant believes that if we each endeavor to live out our faith in the community, the community itself will be positively transformed. Imagine with us a world with a little more love. It takes loving people to create change. That’s who God calls the people of Covenant to be.
