Lent

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and continues through Holy Week with Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and finally Easter Sunday.

What is Lent?

Lent, spanning the 40 days before Easter (excluding Sundays) is a season of reflection, repentance, and self-denial preparing us for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. Rooted in ancient tradition, Christians commemorate the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness before embarking on His ministry.

Throughout Lent, we reflect on our mortality, our ongoing struggle with sin, and our need for redemption. We “give up” things for Lent not for the sake of denial but to refocus ourselves on listening for the Holy Spirit’s guidance. The season of Lent culminates with Easter when Christ sacrificed himself fulfilling the world’s need for atonement. His death and resurrection freed us from our sins, making it possible for us as broken and imperfect humans to dwell in relationship with a mighty and holy God.

Online Worship

What should you wear?  On holidays at Covenant, people tend to wear smart casual.

How long is worship? Our services run just over an hour.

What about my kids? Children are always welcome at Covenant! We offer COVkids children’s ministry for infants – 5th graders. Kids are also welcome to stay with you in worship. There’s a  cry room just off the Sanctuary if you need a more private space.

Can you risk exposure?

Exposure can be risky, especially when it comes to wounds—physical or spiritual. Yet, it’s a necessary step for healing. Without exposure, there’s no space for intervention and no ability to heal what has been broken.

It is the same with our spiritual lives. We all have soul wounds—feelings of unworthiness, doubt, fear, or uselessness. Often buried beneath a mountain coping mechanisms like binging Netflix, drinking more than we should, or busyness, these wounds linger, hindering our spiritual growth and happiness. But hiding our soul wounds only perpetuates the pain, leaving us trapped in a cycle of avoidance and a life of misery always feeling like we’re just barely outrunning our problems.

Thankfully, there’s hope. With God as our Great Physician, there’s a path to healing. Join us this spring and hear the good news specifically for you: God can heal your wounds if willing to be exposed.
